Chesapeake Bay Preservation Area Exception

Many buildable lots, as well as constructed lots, on the Virginia Peninsula and surrounding areas are encumbered by a 100-foot Resource Protection Area Buffer. For new home construction and proposed additions this buffer may require not only local planning department approval, but also approval from the local governing body. LRI will attend governmental board meetings to assist clients in navigating those required approvals for their proposed home and addition impacts. LRI has experience and knowledge needed to best assist clients with presenting to local boards, like the Chesapeake Bay Board, The Board of Supervisors and the Planning Commission in order to obtain the required approvals for their project.

LRI does not complete wetland delineations in house, but does coordinate with local firms for required wetland delineation and then confirms the delineation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers or Virginia DEQ.
